Make architecture a big deal in Georgia! Join us on Wednesday, Feb. 11 at 12 p.m. for the 2015 Day at the Georgia State Capitol. Hear about the upcoming legislative session and issues that could impact the profession. The agenda for the day includes a luncheon featuring guest speakers, followed by meeting with your local legislators and other officials. Look for registration details soon.
 
AIA Georgia will celebrate Excellence in Design to kick off National Architecture Week, April 12-18, 2015. The Design Awards presentation will be held on April 11, 2015. Join us in celebrating excellence in design and honoring members for their contributions to the community and the profession. Call for entries will begin the week of Jan. 19, and project submissions will be due late February/early March.
 
2015: The Year of the Advocate begins with your participation in the AIA National Grassroots Conference, March 4-6, 2015 at the Hyatt Regency Washington at Capitol Hill. Guided by a vision for the future of the profession, the conference provides AIA leaders with tools to influence and pursue action that will strengthen their components, firms, communities and society at large. Leaders exchange information and ideas, provide input on AIA initiatives and advocate the AIA's federal agenda to members of Congress, working collectively toward a better future for architects.

Elizabeth Chu Richter, FAIA, CEO of Richter Architects in Corpus Christi, Texas, was inaugurated as the 91st President of the AIA during ceremonies held on Dec. 12, 2014, at the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C. She succeeds the 90th President Helene Combs Dreiling, FAIA, in representing more than 85,500 AIA members.
