AIA Georgia seeks speakers and facilitators for presentations to be offered at our 2013 Annual Design Conference in Historic Columbus, Georgia, October 10-12. Building upon the success of the AIA South Atlantic Region's re:inventing architecture theme, the AIA West Georgia Chapter is planning an innovative and exciting annual design conference that will provide Continuing Education Credits for over 300 architect members in Georgia. The conference will also provide enriching networking and educational opportunities for associates, interns and students. Selected speakers will have the opportunity to gain visibility and increase their leadership role in the industry by providing valuable information to attendees. SEGD has been guiding the environmental graphic design and architecture communities on ADA conformance issues for more than 20 years, dating from well before the Americans with Disabilities Act passed in 1990. This workshop, to be held April 11, is designed to provide design professionals with the latest information on accessible practices and regulations for signage and information in the built environment. The workshop will use the SEGD 2012 ADA Update, "Signage Requirements in the 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design," as a learning baseline.
