Several AIA Georgia members have been involved in the critical work of the State Codes Advisory Committee (SCAC) for Georgia. Three working groups have just completed amendments for the commercial building code, residential building code and two code appendices for disaster resilience. AIA members are encouraged to review the amendments and appendices and contact Ryan Taylor no later than July 20 if there are questions.

Friday, July 13, 2012. The Transportation Investment Act of 2010 provides the opportunity for the Atlanta Region to vote as a region for the first time. This vote, the Regional Transportation Referendum, on July 31, 2012, allows residents to vote on a penny sales tax to leverage approximately $8.5 billion to support transportation improvements throughout the region. The keynote address will be given by The Honorable John Mica, Chairman, House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. Congressman Mica will give a Federal update and he will be joined by regional leaders who will offer perspective on the upcoming referendum.
