Leadership
I enjoyed seeing some of you at our annual conference and industry partner expo in Grapevine last month. Networking with new friends, seeing old friends and being surrounded by the collective value analysis wisdom was invigorating! The level of depth and insight with the presentations and keynote speakers demonstrates the growth and advancements in our organization and our profession. I am very grateful and proud of the work accomplished by the AHVAP conference committee members for organizing a successful conference and planning our next event. I hope to see you in Orlando next year!
In today's rapidly evolving world, where innovation is the driving force behind progress, standing still is not an option. To truly thrive in your field, you must not only keep pace but also strive to be at the forefront — a vanguard. Being a vanguard means leading the way, setting trends, and inspiring others. In this article, we'll explore why being a vanguard in your field is crucial and how you can embrace this role to achieve success and leave a lasting impact.
In the Simon Sinek book, “Start with Why: How Great Leaders Inspire Everyone to Take Action,” Sinek discusses our need to know and understand both our personal and professional “Why.” He describes how our why is a personal and professional decision about your individual and professional purpose. Our why is what keeps us focused and moving with intentionality toward our purpose and life direction.
Quiz time: What do each of these roles have in common? Value Analysis Director, Supply Chain Coordinator, GPO Sourcing Specialist, Regional Director, Account Manager, Senior Sales Director, Physician, Consultant, Infection Preventionist, and Supply Chain Analyst. Regardless of the job title, each of the abovementioned roles can become a member of AHVAP.
Build a more resilient supply chain
ECRI Institute®
Ongoing shortages of critical medical devices highlight problems with the current “just in time” global supply chain model and the impact of local inventory on patient care. Building a resilient supply chain addresses these issues. To be successful, leaders need expert advice on how to navigate out-of-stock situations, evaluate and minimize category risk, and diversify for resiliency, which will ultimately drive an HRO model.
