President’s Message (Sue’s News)

Dear AHVAP Members and Affiliates,

As Value Analysis continues to gain traction within our industry, it is crucial that Value Analysis programs are attending to both near-term and long-term trends. Value Analysis professionals need to stay abreast to disruptive technologies, targeted therapies, clinical evidence, and be engaged to their organizational changes involving patient access, value and contracting.

AHVAP is the only national organization that evolved through Value Analysis colleagues who set out with a mission to guide in the development and growth of other Value Analysis professionals.

Today, AHVAP has evolved to over 400 members and continues its mission in providing and promoting processes and information to assist Value Analysis Professionals in evaluating healthcare services for clinical quality and cost effectiveness. AHVAP’s creative, educational and developmental programs are established through dedicated and resourceful voluntary professional members and affiliates who continue to carry out AHVAP’s vision to members, affiliates and the healthcare community. AHVAP would like to have you as a professional resource on one or more of its Committees. Please visit ahvap.org/page/committees to check out how to become a member of an AHVAP Committee.

AHVAP is here to support your Value Analysis program and bring together peer to peer interaction, supplier and member collaboration, a wealth of knowledge exchange in current and future trends, educational programs structured from the Value Analysis foundational pillars (Governance & Structure, Methodology, Professionalism & Business Ethics, and Finance) and to bring together the expertise of clinical and business professionals.

AHVAP’s National Annual Conference in Scottsdale, Arizona, is rapidly approaching (October 27-29, 2021), and we are still very excited to be live this year. AHVAP’s Conference Committee will continue to monitor the current environment and bring updates to ensure a safe and secure that adheres to CDC guidelines. Keep a watch out for these conference updates.

With good health,

–Susan A. Toomey, BS, CMRP, CVAHP
