AHVAP INTRODUCES NEW PEDIATRICS AND ALTERNATE SITE SPECIALTY ASSEMBLY EXCLUSIVELY FOR AHVAP MEMBERS
Dear Value Analysis Partners:
As a continued part of our organization's Five Year Strategic Plan to grow the specialty of healthcare value analysis, I am excited to share a new development with you to support your professional practice. Today, AHVAP is excited to announce the launch of AHVAP’s Pediatrics and Alternate Site Settings Specialty Assembly and Zone, a new initiative designed to address the unique healthcare value analysis (HVA) needs of our most vulnerable patient populations, particularly those in pediatric and alternate site settings. This new group will focus on optimizing value analysis processes and strategies that ensure the best care, safety, and cost-effectiveness for pediatric patients and those receiving care in outpatient, home health, and other non-hospital settings. Each meeting of the new Specialty Assembly Zone will be accredited for recertification credits for those holding the Certified Value Analysis Healthcare Professional (CVAHP) designation just as all existing zone meetings are processed. All meeting recordings will be made available as enduring continuing education programs on the AHVAP University platform as a member benefit.
The Pediatrics and Alternate Site Settings Specialty Assembly and Zone will be led by Amanda Conner, MSN, RN, CPN, CVAHP, a nationally recognized expert in pediatric healthcare value analysis and a member of the 2025 AHVAP Executive Leaders Fellowship Program Cohort. Amanda brings years of experience in optimizing care models, improving patient outcomes, and reducing costs in pediatric settings. Her leadership will be invaluable in providing members with targeted tools, strategies, and solutions that will enhance value analysis practices in these specialized care environments.
Key Objectives of this New Group:
- Share best practices for implementing value analysis in pediatric care and alternate site settings (behavioral health, long term care, ambulatory care, etc.)
- Develop strategies to balance cost-effectiveness with patient safety in these high-need environments
- Address the unique challenges faced by pediatric and alternate site healthcare providers, including equipment selection, supply chain, and clinical outcomes
- Provide a platform for collaboration among professionals working with vulnerable pediatric patients and those receiving care outside traditional hospital settings
We invite all AHVAP members interested in this specialty area to join the Pediatrics and Alternate Site Settings Specialty Assembly and Zone to stay at the forefront of value analysis innovations in these critical care environments. A new group is being added today on the AHVAP Circle member’s only community as well, so make sure to join the new group to take advantage of this new networking and professional development opportunity.
The first meeting’s recording is now available in your AHVAP University account complete with enduring continuing education credit. There is no additional charge to participate as this is a new AHVAP member benefit included in your existing membership benefits.
We hope that you enjoy this exciting new AHVAP member benefit and fully utilize it to support your professional development and growth of you and your entire team!
