The Association of Healthcare Value Analysis Professionals (AHVAP) is thrilled to announce that our association has been formally appointed to the Guidelines Advisory Board for the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN). This prestigious appointment marks a significant milestone in our ongoing commitment to enhancing collaboration between healthcare value analysis and perioperative practice.

The AORN Guidelines are a set of evidence-based guidelines developed to ensure the highest levels of safety and efficiency in the operating room. They encompass best practices in areas ranging from infection prevention and control to the proper use of medical products and devices. These guidelines serve as the backbone of safe and effective perioperative care, influencing policies and procedures that directly impact patient outcomes and staff safety. The AORN Guidelines for Perioperative Practice are the gold standard for evidence-based care in the industry.

Our inclusion on the Guidelines Advisory Board is a testament to our expertise and dedication to healthcare value analysis. It provides a unique opportunity to work alongside esteemed perioperative professionals to review, refine, and shape these critical guidelines and contribute our specialty's expertise to the process. Through this collaboration, we can ensure that value analysis principles are seamlessly integrated into perioperative practices, leading to enhanced efficiency, reduced costs, and improved clinical outcomes across the board.

This appointment not only elevates our association's role within the broader healthcare community but also reinforces our mission to drive innovation and excellence in healthcare delivery. By bridging the gap between perioperative practice and value analysis, we are well positioned to foster stronger partnerships, share insights, and develop strategies that benefit all stakeholders — from frontline clinicians to healthcare executives. AHVAP is sincerely appreciative of the continued partnership and leadership of AORN leader, Dr. Lisa Spruce, with our association, as we continue to improve healthcare together. As part of this expanded partnership, Dr. Spruce will be delivering a special continuing education webinar program for AHVAP members on the new AORN ERAS Guideline in March.

We look forward to leveraging this opportunity to contribute to the future of perioperative care and further our commitment to advancing healthcare value analysis. Thank you for your continued support as we embark on this exciting new chapter for our specialty.
