The holiday season is truly a magical time of the year. I believe what makes each holiday special is family, food, and traditions. It should be a time to pause and reflect, with gratitude, on all the triumphs and opportunities that shaped our lives. With this in mind, I want to reflect on the past 12 months as your AHVAP treasurer.

This year has been one of change and evolution for AHVAP. We instituted Credly, the leader in verified digital badging, so our members can easily track and share their AHVAP-specific badges. Zoom became our platform of choice for all AHVAP meetings and educational webinars. This created efficiencies for those hosting AHVAP-sponsored events such as our Regional Meetings. We applied for and received ISO Quality Management Systems certification, which shows our dedication to non-profit organization management. Our AHVAP Certification Center became a full member of the Institute for Credentialing Excellence to ensure our program adheres to rigorous certification standards. Last but not least, we transitioned our conference platform to WHOVA. This allowed our members and industry partners to collaborate and build a community before, during, and after our annual conference.

Although these programs mentioned above carry expenses, we have strengthened AHVAP’s financial foundation throughout all the changes. Micro-credentialing programs such as TeamSTEPPS and Medical Device Safety create learning opportunities to enhance our members’ knowledge base. For those seeking certification, we launched tools to support test preparation and exam success. Our Career Center was reinvigorated with pertinent job listings and became a place for job seekers to upload their resumes securely and privately. Our partnerships grew as connections with the FDA, CDC, ACHE, ICE, ISO, and AORN were forged to ensure our members had access to quality learning opportunities. Each benefit listed above allowed us to grow AHVAP membership to an all-time high. This growth trajectory tells us we are transforming into the organization our members need.

I want to offer my sincere gratitude to our Executive Director's unwavering support and dedication. Dr Garrett has brought AHVAP’s vision to reality. I am equally thankful for my fellow Board of Directors, the Certification Center’s Board of Directors, AHVAP’s Regional Directors and District Representatives, our Committee Chairs, Co-Chairs, Committee members, and all our volunteers who give their time to this organization. I couldn’t think of a better team. Lastly, I am grateful to each of our members for entrusting AHVAP as your resource for healthcare value analysis.

November Financial Overview:

  • Membership Dues: $6,960

  • Education: $3,780

  • Events: $1,040

  • Career Center: $1,200

Looking ahead, I am confident that the coming year will bring new opportunities and challenges that we will navigate with the same spirit of collaboration and financial stewardship. May this holiday season bring you joy, peace, and the warmth of shared accomplishments.

Sincerely,

Anne Marie Orlando, MBA, RN, RCIS, CVAHP™, FACHDM, FAHVAP
