The Association of Healthcare Value Analysis Professionals, Inc. (AHVAP) is currently completing the transition from Caphill Management Services this week. As we move into the new year, we will be finalizing the 2023 volunteer committee structure for the Association to ensure there is direct and measurable alignment with the AHVAP Strategic Plan. Our volunteers are the life blood of our Association and play a vital role in advancing our strategic initiatives. As we embark on this strategic journey together, I have been carefully evaluating each committee over the past few weeks. AHVAP is poised for tremendous growth and our goal is to increase our thought leadership as a professional Association.

Those of you that attended the recent Annual Conference in Dallas and submitted your willingness to serve on a AHVAP committee will be receiving an electronic application link to complete tomorrow to officially submit your committee application. For those of you that have not yet expressed your willingness to serve on an AHVAP committee, here are a few important details for you to consider. Please note that the final committees and charters are still being finalized, but the standing committees for 2023 include the Membership, Annual Conference, Education, and Nominating Committees. AHVAP is exploring innovative methods to engage with our Supplier Partners that will advance evidence-based practices and increase value to the AHVAP membership.

I wanted to share with you the timeline for next steps with our volunteer committees:

  • Committee Volunteer Applications Open Online: December 28, 2023. All AHVAP Members will receive an email with the online application.
  • Committee Volunteer Applications Due: January 13, 2023 at 5 p.m. EDT
  • Committee Chairs Selected: January 18, 2023
  • Committee Members Notified: January 23, 2023
  • New Committee Chairs and Members' Training: Weeks of January 30-February 6, Multiple sessions will be offered to accommodate time zones and scheduling needs.

*Please note that all committee members will be required to have a letter of support from their immediate supervisor, submit a current CV and cover letter, attend 80% of official committee meetings, complete the AHVAP Conflict of Interest and Confidentiality documentation, and participate in the mandatory AHVAP Volunteer Training. Committee members that participate in the mandatory Volunteer Training will receive two hours of continuing education that can be applied towards CVAHP certification renewal.

As we prepare to enter 2023, our entire Board of Directors is thankful to each of you for your dedication, passion, and excitement about AHVAP and the specialty of healthcare value analysis. We look forward to seeing many of you serve on our committees in the new year and helping to advance our mission and vision!

Thank you for your continued membership in the premier healthcare value analysis association!

Happy New Year,

Elizabeth Eisenberg, MSN, RN, CVAHP
President, Board of Directors
