Message from the President
Dear ASHHRA Colleagues,

The Seattle conference was a huge success: from the keynote opening speaker Maysoon Zayid with her message of inclusion of the disabled in the workplace and that "yes, you can can," to the refreshing  "no drama in the workplace" presentation by Cy Wakeman and the parting message of pushing through the pain as a final inspiration from Ricardo Palomares. I hope those of you who attended found some personal inspiration and a sense of professional renewal; I know I did!

I would like to recognize Annual Conference Chair Amanda Adams and her committee for the work they did on program review and concurrent education sessions, as well as the hands-on activities at the conference. No conference would be a success without the Host Committee –  thank you to Chair Kimberly Washburn and committee members for their contributions, making Seattle feel like home for the few days we were there.

Conference continues to be a major resource in our learning and connections to health care human resources. The educational sessions enhance our level of performance for organizations we engage with on a daily basis. No other conference offers this unique opportunity to network with peers in the same field, create new friends and celebrate the friendships already made.

As we return to our daily responsibilities, keep in mind the connections you made that could provide professional support for you and your practice. Certainly don’t forget the connections with ASHHRA and the assets you have by way of membership, webinars and mentor programs. This is your organization, here to support you and your teams.

Please take the time to complete the conference survey. Let us know what you liked, and more importantly, what would interest you for future conferences. Here’s to seeing you in Pittsburgh next September for our 2018 conference!
