Dear ASHHRA Colleagues,

February is a cold, wet month for much of the country. Many of us are simply trying to make it to March and hoping for a chance at an early spring. If you, like many of us, are stuck inside due to cold, inclement weather, try surfing the ASHHRA website to alleviate your boredom. We've talked about the on-demand education and webinars but there is so much more on your ASHHRA website!

If you are looking to move out of that inclement weather, or maybe just to another opportunity, the ASHHRA Career Center has many positions in Texas, California and Florida if you want warm weather; and if you like winter, New York, Minnesota, Montana and Alaska have a plethora of positions also!

Looking for some information or want to contribute to the conversation? Your fellow ASHHRA members are on ASHHRA Exchange discussing topics dealing with PTO, interviewing a CEO, vendor selections, restructuring an education department in a small hospital, and more. You might want to check the postings every day to see if something perks your interest, and the library also contains all of the resources shared by your peers.

The Resource Library in the new ASHHRA website is also a treasure trove of knowledge, with numerous white papers, position papers, the 51st Labor Activity in Health Care Report and the recently released AHA 2019 Health Care Talent Scan. Go ahead and impress your peers with your knowledge!

Finally, Health Care Human Resources Week is March 16-20. Don’t let it sneak up on you. While the ASHHRA Store will help you get some ASHHRA-branded items to share with the HR staff, its most important function is to make sure you don’t forget to celebrate Health Care HR Week!

Take care, stay warm and enjoy the day.
