Dear ASHHRA Colleagues,

Connect. Innovate. Transform. ASHHRA19 did not disappoint. From the keynote speakers to the learning sessions and everything in between, the content exceeded expectations. Education, insights, practical advice and take-home strategies, there is no better way to recharge your batteries professionally. I am incredibly proud of everyone that had a hand in planning the conference, and I am thankful for everyone who attended. Chicago was good to us!

I encourage you to continue the conversations you started at conference. Dedicate time to learn, grow in the profession and gain perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing you and your organization. ASHHRA is committed to anticipating and meeting your needs as it continues to evolve.

Now that we have entered the fall season, I encourage you to consider the New Year and new opportunities. Explore the ways you can make a difference and build your leadership skills as an ASHHRA volunteer leader! Applications are open until Nov. 1, 2019, to begin serving in 2020. It is a rewarding way to give back to the health care human resources community; it is the best decision I ever made!

Another valuable opportunity to consider this fall is sharing your expertise, knowledge or experience by submitting an abstract for ASHHRA20. The ASHHRA20 Call for Abstracts is opening soon — watch your inbox for an official announcement. Prepare and submit an educational abstract by Nov. 15 to be considered to present at the conference in Denver. It is an opportunity I would do over and over again!

The community and connection that ASHHRA provides to each of us and our organizations is unparalleled. Personally, my connections with ASHHRA colleagues and friends make a difference. I am proud to be a part of this incredible organization. Thank you for being a part of it too!

Warm regards,

Sarah Fredrickson, M.A., CHHR
ASHHRA President, 2019
