Dear ASHHRA Colleagues,

It’s that time of year when the hustle and bustle of all that holiday cheer starts to surround us. My hope is that each of you will have some time to celebrate the holidays with both your work and home families. Your ASHHRA Board and staff have worked hard this year to provide you value-added services such as the ASHHRA Learning Portal and Annual Conference. As we move wrap up 2018, I hope you can take some time to thank our staff and Board for all they have done.

As leaders in health care, we are in amazing positions to help our employees, so that they can provide the best care possible for our patients. We have much to be thankful for and many times set the culture in our organization. We choose what attitude we have each day and that made me think of this unauthored tidbit that I received this morning — please enjoy.

Grateful for…
1. Early wakeups = Children to love
2. House to clean = Safe place to live
3. Laundry = Clothes to wear
4. Dishes to wash = Food to eat
5. Crumbs under the table = Family meals
6. Grocery shopping = Money to provide food
7. Toilets to clean = Indoor plumbing
8. Lots of noise = People in my life
9. Endless questions about homework = Kids with growing minds
10. Sore and tired in bed = I’m still alive

So, as we give thanks and find fellowship with friends and family over the next few months, keep in mind all the great things we can be grateful for.

Sincerely,

Jamie Parsons, CHHR, SPHR-SCP, FACHE, SPHR
SVP/CHRO St. Elizabeth Healthcare
2018 ASHHRA President
