Dear ASHHRA Colleagues,
Here in Northeast Tennessee, the weather has been as unpredictable as the March Madness brackets. We have had 80 degree weather in February and now snow in March. On a more predictable note, your ASHHRA Board continues to work for you and provide our members the best possible organization that we can.
Our conference theme this year, Meeting the Challenge and Making a Difference, was developed based upon all the challenges you face every day. ASHHRA also faces some of those same challenges, such as remaining relevant in our mission, providing valuable resources to our membership and making sure we hear your voice and respond to your needs. Volunteers are the lifeblood of ASHHRA and we are always looking for members to lend their expertise.
One way your board is working to support you is to ensure that our website is relevant and up-to-date. The website currently serves as a resource for things such as education, conference and input from your fellow health care HR professionals.
We are currently reviewing how the ASHHRA website is meeting members’ needs and would love to hear from you.
Finally, I hope you are finding time to celebrate Health Care HR Week, now through March 17. Health care human resources is a busy profession, but hopefully you can take some time to slow down and celebrate the good things you are doing for your employees and the patients they serve. On behalf of the ASHHRA Board, thank you for your valuable contributions across the continuum of care!
Sincerely,
Jamie Parsons, CHHR, SPHR, FACHE, SHRM-SCP
ASHHRA President, 2018
