Dear ASHHRA Colleagues,

I am on my way to Seattle for the ASHHRA 53rd Annual Conference & Exposition. It’s hard to believe it’s already been a year since the last ASHHRA conference, and I can’t tell you how excited I am to kick things off this weekend. The ASHHRA Board and Annual Conference Committee have been working diligently to develop an impactful, educational and fun program this year, offering opportunities to connect to new ideas and best practices, recognized thought leaders, resources and solutions, and best of all — the wonderful community of health care HR professionals.

There is so much to look forward to in the next few days: Keynote speakers Maysoon Zayid, Cy Wakeman and Ricardo Palomares; assembling Wellness Kits on Saturday for the Boys and Girls Clubs; recognizing chapters and award winners; leaning about innovative ideas and solutions from our exhibitors; the Social Event on Sunday night; and so much more. What I think I am looking forward to the most about this meeting reconnecting with my fellow health care HR peers and making new connections because nothing compares to being with your community. We face many of the same challenges in health care and having an opportunity for face-to-face exchange is invaluable.

So for those attending, I am excited to see you all. Registration is still open, including One Day Only registration. Even if you can only attend one day, I encourage you to join us and experience the conference yourself. And for those who cannot be in Seattle with us, be sure to save the date for next year in Pittsburgh, Sept. 15 – 18, 2018.

See you in Seattle,

Gary L. Pastore, MSL, CHHR
ASHHRA 2017 President
Director & Senior Business Consultant
