The U.S. economy continued to add jobs at a steady pace in July, and the unemployment rate remained low. Analysts have been looking for signs that wage growth might pick up, but it held steady, too. Payrolls grew by 157,000 in July and the unemployment rate edged down to 3.9 percent according to the latest Labor Department report.

Health Care Hiring

Monday, Sept. 17, 4:15 - 5:45 pm

In 2013, Thought Leader Forum participants envisioned tomorrow's workplace with a five year time span. Now, exactly five years later, we will discuss the workforce landscape and if those projected changes rang true. More importantly, we will explore how it will affect future workforce needs and the tools human resources executives should be prepared to offer to ensure workforce success in new and evolving roles. Register for the ASHHRA Annual Conference to participate in this important event.

Recently asked on ASHHRA Exchange:

"We are in the process of working through a new compensation structure. My market data does not distinguish medical coders based on type of facility, but my partners believe there is a difference between clinic and hospital coding. If you are in a similar setting, how do you handle this? Do you have any research to prove one way or the other?"
