Thursday, June 11th | Ironwood Golf Course

Sponsorships and registrations are open for the Construction Leadership Council's 23rd Annual Golf Outing on Thursday, June 11th! We will be at the Ironwood Golf Course in Sussex, and feature an all-day lunch, contests on the course, buffet dinner, raffles, door prizes, ball-drop, and more.

Sponsorships provide an excellent opportunity to promote your company to an industry-targeted audience. All sponsors will be listed in the golf outing program and receive verbal recognition during the awards ceremony. Proceeds from our sponsors will go toward continued development of quality programs for the CLC, as well as toward fundraising efforts for the CLC Scholarship Fund.

This year’s Building Advantage Career Fair, held on Tuesday, May 5th, aimed to connect construction trades careers with Milwaukee area youth seeking careers. Dozens of general contractors, subcontractors, and local unions pitched to high school students from nearly 50 local schools at the Milwaukee Brewers stadium.

There were nearly 1,300 high school students and 1,500 attendees total, said Katie Connell, Director of Communications for Building Advantage. Around 45 contractors, unions, and professional organizations set up booths with hands-on activities simulating carpentry, electrical work, bricklaying, and welding. Attendees also heard from Alma Mercado, the Youth Outreach and Program Coordinator at WRTP | BIG STEP, a nonprofit working to prepare and train trades workers across the state.

Construction is in critical need of labor as much of the current workforce prepares for retirement and hundreds of thousands of new workers are needed to keep up with demand. Meanwhile, students are looking for careers that have competitive pay and build marketable skills.

AGC of Greater Milwaukee was a proud sponsor of the event.
