The 2017 Florida Chapter ASLA Annual Conference in Boca Raton is less than a month away. Our dedicated conference committee has been hard at work for more than a year to provide our attendees with great fellowship opportunities, inspirational tours, high-quality education sessions, and leading-edge keynote speakers.
 
 
   
Online registration for the ASLA annual Meeting and Expo went live last month after a soft launch. Pre-registration brochure was sent to members. Watch your mailboxes (the old-fashioned kind)! Register before the June 30 early bird deadline to save on registration rates.

FLASLA President-Elect and founder of Bell Landscape Architecture, Deena Bell Llewellyn, was featured along with three other landscape architects from across the U.S. in the April 2017 issue of Casual Living. The group discussed "The Elements" regarding the hottest backyard trends from the East to the West.
 
 
   
The 2017 Department of Landscape Architecture Scholarship and Awards Ceremony was held Friday, April 21 where students and alumni were recognized for their achievements. Congratulations to all the award winners, especially Jim Coulliard - Distiguished Alumni Award, and Kevin White - Distiguished Service Award.
 
 
   
On May 11, 2017, Tallahassee Trust for Historic Preservation honored David Driapsa, FASLA, with the Award of Excellence for his success with the Smokey Hollow Historic American Landscapes Survey (HALS).
