I, Mark Focht, would like to personally challenge everyone to contribute to this worthy endeavor. It's easy! They take credit cards and it is over three years. I am looking for 100 percent FLASLA ExCom participation!

As you may be aware, World Landscape Architecture Month (WLAM) is in April, just two short weeks from now. ASLA National is promoting the "Designed by a Landscape Architect" campaign for WLAM. For this activity during April, we are asking ASLA chapters and IFLA organizations to join in the celebration whereby people around the world will use the attached cards to take pictures of iconic or unique landscapes with the hashtag #WLAM2015 and sharing them on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Then, please go to asla.org/wlam to submit the picture so ASLA can catalogue everything. Also, National has designated an international "sister" organization of landscape architects for each state chapter to reach out and coordinate WLAM activities with. Florida Chapter's sister organization is in Portugal (Associação Portuguesa dos Arquitetos Paisagistas (APAP)). Margarida Cancela d'Abreu (margarida.abreu@apap.pt) is our contact there.

The Miami-Dade and Monroe County Section of APA FL, Gold Coast is hosting a Green Infrastructure Challenge focused on small scale projects (rain gardens). They would love to see multidisciplinary teams submit innovative project ideas through this initiative. Registration is open now with a deadline for design submittal of May 1. Finalist projects will be installed at a site provided at Greynolds Park by the Parks and Recreation Dept at the beginning of June. Final judging will occur in August, with the winners recognized as part of the annual APA FL conference which will take place in September in Hollywood this year.
