On Sunday, October 8, the Northwest Diving History Association held their annual conference at the Foss Waterway Seaport Museum in Tacoma, Washington. The one-day event was attended by a number of diving pioneers, who began their careers when the dive industry was in its infancy and continue to contribute to diving today.

Recognizing and honoring individuals whose efforts and accomplishments have significantly contributed to commercial diving through a lifetime of dedication.

Nominees do not have to be commercial divers, but can be any individual who has been influential and who has made a significant and recognizable life-long contribution to the commercial diving community.

Inductees will be honored at the Awards Dinner at Underwater Intervention 2018.

Award
This year the ADCI will award 2 Scholarships at $4,000.00 each.

Eligibility
This ADCI Scholarship is open to members of the community of all ADCI voting member companies who are current and in good standing with ADCI, with the exception of officers and/or directors of the ADCI Board of Directors or their immediate families. This award is available for any institution of higher learning after high school including universities, colleges, junior colleges, vocational training schools and trade schools. 

Scholarship recipients will be honored at the Awards Dinner at Underwater Intervention 2018.

Finnish Start-up Alleco has developed an underwater tablet, that has both a working GPS and crucially a fully functional touchscreen. The standard device which is depth rated to 90m/300ft is mainly targeted at military and commercial divers, although many a recreational diver would find it super useful as well.

Swathe Services have recently delivered a complete multibeam sonar solution to the Hydrographic Department at Associated British Ports (ABP) Humber. After reviewing several systems and a series of challenging demonstrations Mike Abbey, Hydrographer Hydrographer to the Rivers Humber, Trent and Ouse, chose the Sonic 2024 with ultra-high resolution and raw water column options for their hydrographic survey vessel Humber Sounder.
