New On ADCI-TV

Stay current with what's happening in your industry by watching ADCI's video updates.

Pre-planned preventative maintenance programs work to ensure the safety of personnel and assist in mitigating costs associated with equipment failure. This episode reinforces the importance of such programs and discusses the benefits associated with them.

The Association of Diving Contractors International and the MTS ROV Committee have done it again! Underwater Intervention 2014 was a huge success. This year's show brought together stakeholders in the subsea industry for three days of education and networking. Check out the highlights in this episode.

This episode breaks down the steps that must be taken before conducting underwater operations. Job planning and Job Hazard Analyses are invaluable tools when assessing and mitigating risk and ensuring adherence to industry practices and regulations. ADCI contractors are committed to best industry practice, quality of work and the safety of their personnel over profit. This commitment reduces the risk of incident, injury and liability to a project's stakeholders.

The ADCI has implemented an industry-wide initiative to educate operators in the offshore and inland sectors, both internationally and domestically, on what is at stake when contracting for underwater services. In this episode, we tackle the topic of contractor selection and discuss what an operator should be aware of when looking to hire a diving contractor.

The Importance of Client Education
Episode One: Leadership

We begin our seven part series on client education with a conversation on the role of leadership and its part in mitigating risk for both the diving contractor and the client.

When a unit at Salt River Project's 129-MW Horse Mesa project suffered a catastrophic failure, a creative option was needed to repair the unit, whose intake structure is 160 feet below the lake surface. The solution chosen, called "saturation diving," involved using special equipment to replicate living at underwater pressures during the task.

As wind farms march out into coastal waters to meet energy demands, seals are learning to use them like local grocery stores, scientists say. A few wily individuals have been spotted prowling the grids of turbines, checking for fish congregating around individual pillars and stopping to feast when they find them.

The release of a new Marcellus Shale Coalition (MSC) annual workforce survey shows that development of shale has – to the surprise of few – been a boon to the state. Pennsylvania’s unemployment is the lowest that it has been since 2008, and hiring in 2014 could send it even lower. Member companies expect to add to the ranks of shale workers by hiring more than 2,000 new employees in 2014, John M. Augustine III, the community outreach manager, told Rigzone.

Lawmakers in Mexico’s lower house approved on Tuesday a key package of bills needed to implement a landmark energy overhaul, but made minor changes that will now need to be approved by the Senate. The bills, including a crucial new hydrocarbons law, form the backbone of a reform to open the long-shuttered oil sector to private and foreign investment via a potentially lucrative new contacting scheme aimed at luring oil majors like Royal Dutch Shell and Exxon Mobil.
