New On ADCI-TV

Stay current with what's happening in your industry by watching ADCI's video updates.

The ADCI has implemented an industry-wide initiative to educate operators in the offshore and inland sectors, both internationally and domestically, on what is at stake when contracting for underwater services. In this episode, we tackle the topic of contractor selection and discuss what an operator should be aware of when looking to hire a diving contractor.

In this episode, we look at how the ADCI Scholarship Program has benefited recipients of the award and learn how to help keep this important program running. This episode also educates ADCI members on the Commercial Diving Hall of Fame and how to submit nominations.

The Importance of Client Education
Episode One: Leadership

We begin our seven part series on client education with a conversation on the role of leadership and its part in mitigating risk for both the diving contractor and the client.

Max von der Heydt is coming home for the holidays, bearing glad tidings. And why not? His childhood knack for building stuff has already carried the 2002 Falmouth Academy graduate across the country, into outer space and back.
It started with remote-controlled vehicles and refurbishing go-carts. But what really got the ball rolling was working summers as a teenager at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution shadowing WHOI engineers in the autonomous underwater vehicles department.

Every gas station in Mexico is stamped with the green-and-white logo of the state-owned oil monopoly, the economic lifeblood of the government. Oil Expropriation Day, commemorating the day Mexico seized control of the industry from foreign companies in 1938, is celebrated with speeches and even parades in some towns. An old song, "The Oil Worker Hymn," credits oil with "saving our fatherland."

Visiongain calculates that spending on ROVs will total USD2,496m in 2014. Europe is the only region that will see declining demand for ROV services as North Sea production and drilling activity declines.
