A great video about the intro to commercial diving.
In 2005 about a dozen of experienced divers got to try some commercial diving equipment in a 2 day special intro given by DIT. The MkV is no longer used by the Navy, or hardly anyone else. The complete suit weighs 187 lbs. This is a composite of several of them. The full DVD is almost an hour long.

INDUSTRY NEWS
Last year at this time it was all about the post-Macondo rebound and more drilling opportunities in deepwater and ultradeepwater. Early this year, the rig count in the Gulf returned to pre-Macondo levels, and many say business should continue to improve at least into 2015. This can only translate into more business for offshore service vessel operators.

Since the beginning of the upstream industry’s migration from dry land into shallow-water arenas, and subsequently into deeper water depths of 600-plus ft., the development of reserves in ever-greater water depths to 10,000 ft. has brought on significantly greater volumes of reserves, along with greater producing rates. This has required the development of a vast amount of new technology to bring these reserves to the marketplace.

How odd it must seem to Millenials that with the world a thumb click away on a computer that fits in their pocket, the offshore industry (and the rest of the United States) is forced to rely on decades-old information regarding potential offshore oil and gas reserves on approximately 85% of the outer continental shelf (OCS).

Those making electric vehicles or their components seek to expand their business. To do this, they need to look beyond the oversupplied on-road sector. Marine electric vehicles are interesting as a market that is more profitable and often more open to innovation. However, until now, there has been no report assessing this substantial market sector. No longer. This is the world's first comprehensive report on marine electric vehicles with latest ten year forecasts and important new projects such as submarines that will fly.
