Nathan Shaw had the daunting task of taking off his dive helmet and putting it back on while submerged in 28 feet of water. Shaw, a dive officer with the Long Beach Harbor Patrol Commercial Dive Unit, demonstrated his aquatic skill Sunday in the 186,000 gallon Blue Cavern tank at the Aquarium of the Pacific in front of curious spectators.

The Singapore and Indonesian navies are co-hosting the 4th Western Pacific Mine Countermeasures Exercise (MCMEX) and Diving Exercise (DIVEX).

More than 1,000 personnel and 15 ships from 16 navies will be participating in the two exercises, which will be conducted in the Singapore Strait and the waters off the Indonesian island of Pulau Bintan.

The Defence Ministry said this year's exercises will, for the first time, feature multilateral information sharing and the deployment of unmanned water vehicles.

More than 40 medical practitioners from ten countries are also meeting to discuss the topics of military diving and hyperbaric medicine.

The Alantic Wind Connection filing in December was the start of a process intended to result, in due course, in the full exploitation of the region's offshore wind potential. It was first aired publically in October last year. The prospective trunk will stretch from New Jersey to Virginia and enable up to 6,000 MW of wind power to be built out of sight from land. Independent transmission company Trans-Elect is developing the project, expected to cost about $5 billion.

The underwater inspection of the Mullaiperiyar dam has been suspended following the malfunction of the Remote Operated Vehicle, which was expected to scan the walls of the dam under water, using the sophisticated cameras.

A diver who looked at the hull of the Showboat Branson Belle on Tuesday morning said he didn't see any major damage. Justin Scherf, diver for Pro-Dive Inc., who was hired by Herschend Enterprises, said visibility was good and that, despite some scratches, the hull was in good shape. The U.S. Coast Guard will review the high-definition video footage Scherf filmed during his dive to determine if the vessel is cleared to cruise again.

This extremely prestigious recognition demonstrates that PDA standards of management, training, and student welfare fully comply with, and indeed in many cases exceed, the very high standards set by the British Accreditation Council. It is a testament to the quality of the Academy that this accreditation was successfully achieved at its first attempt.

Jee recently performed a conceptual design study for National Grid on the feasibility of a new pipeline transporting carbon dioxide from industrial emitters in the east of England to a proposed storage site in the southern North Sea.
