MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
The ADCI is in the final stages of releasing edition 6.4 of the International Consensus Standards for Commercial Diving and Underwater Operations.

Some of the notable additions and revisions are:
• Expansion of the subsection on Underwater Lift Bag Operational Guidelines from 2 to 15 pages.  Examples of different air bag lifts, air inflation chart, pre-use checklist, common material densities, air requirements and practical considerations are included.
• New requirements for manifolds, pressure-reducing regulators and hot-water systems
 
INTERNATIONAL NEWS
Repsol SA has produced the first batch of biofuel for the aviation industry at its 186,000-b/d Tarragona integrated refining and petrochemicals complex along northeastern Spain’s Costa Daurada of the Mediterranean Sea.
 
Marine Energy Test Area (META), Wales’ national marine test centre, has obtained the marine license for the second phase of the project from Natural Resources Wales (NRW).
 
The total value of the firm contracts is approximately USD $100MM, including rig modifications, integrated services provided, and a mobilization fee for Maersk Valiant. The contracts include various extension options.
 
Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources has signed a concession agreement with Mubadala Petroleum for oil and gas exploration activities in Red Sea block 4.
