The following items of information are provided to bring your attention to recent industry developments, initiatives, or safety notices.

Revisions to ADCI Supervisor Exam

The ADCI Supervisor Exam has been revised to reflect the new ADCI Consensus Standards for Commercial Diving and Underwater Operations (ed. 6.1).

The areas of change are reflected in the Practical Knowledge section are with:
  • saturation diving emergency evacuation 
  • manning levels for surface diving off of dynamically positioned vessels 
  • manning levels and operational requirements for live boating 
  • maximum depths for HeO₂ operations 
  • and stage or bell requirements for different diving applications off of dynamically positioned vessels 
  • differences between surface diving off of DP II or DP III vessel versus the practice of live boating

The Consensus Standards Consensus Standards for Commercial Diving and Underwater Operations (ed. 6.1) can be downloaded for free from both the ADCI website and the Underwater magazine website.
 

This Information was sent to further the communication of all industry stakeholders. Safety is the primary concern of the ADCI. Remember: a real-time Job Hazard Analysis is important, but nothing can replace good common sense.
