Georgia counties will receive a one percent cost of living adjustment (COLA) that will be effective Jan. 1, 2016. Sheriffs, superior court clerks, probate judges, magistrates, commissioners and coroners will be entitled to a one percent cost of living increase.

The Georgia Board of Natural Resources and the Environmental Protection Division (EPD) issued a rule change for both Georgia's Drought Management and Water Supply Efficiency rules. The rule changes will affect counties; however, the counties with water withdrawal permits and operating public systems will be particularly affected and should pay close attention.

Legislative advocacy and public policy development are some of the primary services that ACCG provides to Georgia's counties. To prepare for the development of the county platform, ACCG is asking for county officials to complete the 2015 Policy Survey that will inform the Policy Committees which issues to consider.
