The ACCG District Days at the Capitol are approaching soon! ACCG's newest training offering will provide county officials the opportunity to experience a day under the Gold Dome and interact with their respective legislative delegations. If you are attending the February 10th District Day, be sure to register for your Lifelong Learning Academy training courses that will be held on February 9th and make your housing reservations. The housing deadline for the February 10th District Day is January 13th.

Counties interested in hosting 2015 summer interns should submit their Georgia County Internship Program (GCIP) grant applications today! Summer grants are awarded for the period of May 1, 2015 - September 1, 2015 and will cover 200 internship hours at a pay rate of $10 per hour.

Nominations for the Georgia Children's Cabinet 2015 Servant's Heart Award are due today! First Lady Sandra Deal is calling on county commissioners to nominate a local youth for the award that recognizes local youth who demonstrate a sustained commitment to meeting community needs. Nominees must be between the ages of 12 and 18.

The Georgia Environmental Finance Authority (GEFA) and the Environmental Finance Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill have conducted the 2014 Georgia Water and Wastewater Rates Survey. The survey gathered information on rates throughout the state from 454 utilities. These results will assist Georgia's water and sewer systems with the understanding, benchmarking, and analysis of utility rates and financial health, to better assist their communities in protecting public health and improving economic development through appropriate utility rates setting and financial planning.

The Constitutional Officers of Gwinnett County, in partnership with the Constitutional Officers of Georgia (COAG), are pleased to announce a scholarship contest for Georgia high school seniors and current college undergraduates. Each year, COAG offers Georgia students a chance to win scholarships. This year, students have the opportunity to win one of three scholarships in the amounts of $1,500, $1,000 and $500. Applications are due on April 1, 2015.
