The ACCG-Interlocal Risk Management Agency (ACCG-IRMA) Board of Trustees recently voted to return a dividend in the amount of $2 million to its membership. ACCG-IRMA is a non-profit, member-owned property and liability insurance pool designed to meet the insurance needs of Georgia county governments.

Local Government Risk Management Services is offering an advanced workers' compensation workshop on July 29 and Sept. 10 and 24. Local government officials will be allowed an in-depth look into the claims and adjudication processes of ACCG and GMA Workers' Compensation programs. Representatives from both organizations will be present to answer questions, address processes and arrange further consultation if needed.

The Environmental Finance Center Network will host a workshop for managers and supervisors of local water systems on July 18 and 19, at Tennessee American Water in Chattanooga, Tenn. Officials will receive continuing education units (CEUs) for attending the workshop.

The ACCG Civic Affairs Foundation welcomes Jones Management Consulting interns Ricky Roby and Joanna Sanders. As geographic information system interns, Roby and Sanders will serve as the first interns for Jones Management Consulting through its partnership with the Foundation.

Easter Seals East Georgia and Grant Writing USA will present a two-day grants writing workshop in Augusta-Richmond County on Aug. 1-2, 2013. Both experienced and beginner grants writers from city, county and state agencies, colleges and universities, non-profits and K-12 are encouraged to attend.

The Georgia Family Connection Partnership has released the state's first-ever Civic Health Index. The report gauged the civic engagement and community participation among all Georgians. This report is said to be a starting point to launch a statewide conversation on how to make Georgia a more active and engaged state.
