The Georgia Forestry Commission is hosting a one-day workshop that will focus on how to avoid or mitigate damages caused by trees during storms or other catastrophic events. Participants will learn how to develop a personalized Community Forest Storm Mitigation Plan that will serve as a guide for assessing current storm readiness, creating a summary of your community’s current forest management program, and developing a storm mitigation checklist.

The Georgia Finance Authority and the Department of Community affairs will host two workshops for those interested in completing an application for the Governor's Water Supply Program. Workshops will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at 1 p.m. at the Georgia Association of Water Professionals in Marietta, Ga., and on Monday, March 25, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at UGA Tifton.
