The 2024 ACCG Annual Conference is quickly approaching. Make plans to join us in Savannah/Chatham County on April 25-28, 2024 for educational opportunities, networking, and engaging hot topic discussions. More details are forthcoming. 
State law requires counties to set election qualifying fees by Thurday, February 1, 2024. To help counties with the process, ACCG has released a document on the calculation of qualifying fees.
  
Counties now have until Wednesday, February 28 to submit their nominations for the 2024 Georgia County Excellence Awards. A partnership between ACCG and Georgia Trend, the Georgia County Excellence Awards recognize counties that have taken innovative and cost-effective approaches to solving local issues through local programs and initiatives. 
  
Help ACCG recognize the exceptional leaders in local government by nominating a county official in your community for one of ACCG's prestigious leadership awards. Nominations are due Friday, March 1, 2024. 
  
Members of the ACCG-Group Self-Insurance Workers' Compensation Fund (ACCG-GSIWCF) will see a rate decrease this year. The Board of Trustees voted to decrease the overall rate structure by 8.4% for the 2024 ACCG-GSIWCF renewal. 
  
ACCG Executive Director Dave Wills and several Georgia county officials were recently recognized as Georgia Trend magazine's 100 Most Influential and Notable Georgians. Please join us in congratulating these outstanding individuals on this recognition.

The application window to apply for a Rural Business Development Grant (RBDG) is now open. Funds can be used for various purposes including establishing local business support centers, funding job training programs, and more. 
  
Georgia State University's Center for State and Local Finance (CSLF) is offering a Debt Management Course for government professionals in February. The course will highlight key topics to help professionals with debt management policies and strategies.
  
The call for projects period is open for the Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) and Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) Annual Base funding and BIL Supplemental funding. The federally-funded loan program provides funding for a wide variety of water quality and non-point source projects, as well as water and energy conservation projects Pre-applications must be submitted by Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at 5:00 p.m.

Does your county have an innovative program worthy of national recognition? Submit your outstanding program to be considered for a 2024 NACo Achievement Award. The early bird submission deadline is Friday, February 23, while the regular deadline is Saturday, March 30, 2024
Registration is now open for the 2024 NACo Legislative Conference. The conference will take place February 10 - 13 in Washington, D.C. Attendees have the opportunity to engage in policy and educational sessions, interact with federal officials, and participate in congressional briefings and meetings.
