ACCG VIRTUAL POLICY ISSUE UPDATE AND 2023 POLICY AGENDA ONLINE VOTING

Due to the cancellation of the Legislative Leadership Conference (LLC), the 2023 Policy Agenda Adoption Process will now take place online. The voting period will be held from 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 12 until 12:00 p.m. on Friday, October 14. Click to review more important dates and details.

Registration for Fall Regional Meetings is open. Attend a meeting to learn more about the 2023 Policy Agenda, ACCG's research on the impact of COLAs and longevity increases on constitutional officers and other county elected officials and more. Contact your county clerk to register.

The ACCG Civic Affairs Foundation is hosting a webinar on Tuesday, October 11, 2022. Attendees will learn about the 2023 Georgia County Internship Program (GCIP), the application process, changes to the application form, and best practices in applying for a GCIP grant.

UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANKS SEMINAR

The Georgia Tank & Environmental Contractors Association (GTEC) is hosting the 2022 seminar on Underground Storage Tanks (USTs). GTEC, with the assistance of the Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD), offers this seminar to keep UST Owners/Operators up to date on changes in the regulations on USTs and also on any new technologies available.

Strengthening Mobility and Revolutionizing Transportation (SMART) Discretionary Grant Program

The U.S.Department of Transportation released the FY22 Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for the new Strengthening Mobility and Revolutionizing Transportation (SMART) Grants Program. This new discretionary grant program will offer up to $100 million in grants annually over the next five years to fund transportation projects that use data and technology to solve real-world challenges facing communities today.

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) announced the process for state, local and Tribal governments to file bulk challenges to the data in the Broadband Serviceable Location Fabric (the “Fabric”), which serves as the foundation for the Broadband Data Collection (BDC) fixed availability maps.

October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month. Communities are calling on county leaders to invest in cybersecurity to ensure their county has the tools and resources to control the risk of cyber-attacks and information security breaches.
