This fall ACCG is hosting a series of regional trainings around the state on Local Option Sales Tax Negotiations (LOST) and Redistricting. Training begins on September 20 and ends on October 6. County officials and staff are encouraged to attend as these issues can have longstanding impacts on your county. 
  
Have you registered for a policy committee meeting yet? The first set of meetings will take place in a little less than two weeks on August 18. Be sure to register soon to take advantage of the opportunity to provide input on the issues that will help shape the 2022 Policy Agenda. 
  
Mark your calendars! The ACCG Civic Affairs Foundation will be holding their annual golf tournament fundraiser on Monday, October 18 at Bear’s Best in Gwinnett County. Proceeds from the tournament will help fund the Georgia County Internship Program. 
  
This month the ACCG Civic Affairs Foundation is highlighting two amazing interns, Stephanie Allen and David Shoemaker and their internship with the Franklin County Board of Commissioners. Click read more to learn about their experience and the skills they've acquired.

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is pleased to announce the opening of the Pre-application period for the 2021-2022 Georgia Outdoor Stewardship Program (GOSP). GOSP is a grant and loan program administered by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources and authorized by The Georgia Outdoor Stewardship Act. 
  
The Emergency Management Association of Georgia (EMAG) is now accepting nominations for the 2021 EMAG Awards. Emergency Management Agencies and their staff (volunteer and paid) are eligibile for nominations. All nominations must be submitted no later than October 1, 2021.
  
The Georgia Tank and Equipment Contractors Association (GTEC) will host Annual Underground Storage Tank Management and Compliance Assistance Seminar conducted by GTEC. Attendees have the option of attending one of the two seminars being offered.

Under the American Rescue Plan Act, counties may use Fiscal Recovery Funds to replace lost revenue and use these funds outside of explicit eligible uses of Recovery Funds under the interim rule. NACo has developed a new resource page that contains important information, along with a calculator tool developed by the Government Finance Officers Association, counties should use when calculating revenue loss.
