Registration for the Summer Policy Committee Meetings will open soon. Attend the meeting(s) of your choice to recommend priorities for the Association to focus on. Committee recommendations will be considered by the ACCG Policy Council before heading to the full membership for a vote during the Legislative Leadership Conference.
Join ACCG, the Georgia Department of Revenue, and the Georgia Forestry Commission for an informative webinar on the TREES Act (HB 223) on Monday, June 9 at 2 p.m. The TREES Act allows local governments to forgive the timber tax collections for Q4 of 2024 and all of 2025 through a resolution that waives the tax. 
SB 56 provides specific provisions for COVID-19 related deaths of public safety officials on or before April 15, 2022. Any claims previously submitted for COVID-19 related deaths must be resubmitted within the application window from July 1, 2025 and Aug. 1, 2025. 
  
For students who participate in the Georgia County Internship Program (GCIP), the internship offers invaluable hands-on experience and the chance to help their counties with special projects. The Georgia Forestry Commission (GFC) is continuing to provide support to landowners who have been impacted by Hurricane Helene. Discover how GFC is working with other entities to assist with land restoration and tax relief. 
  
The Georgia Department of Community Affairs is providing financial assistance for the Rural Workforce Housing Initiative. Approximately $34 million is available to support the needs of working families and individuals relocating for employment. Pre-applications are required to submit a full application.
The full-application window to apply for funding through the Southeast Crescent Regional Commission will open on Friday, June 20. Funding will be awarded to projects that support basic infrastructure, business development, natural resources, and workforce/labor development.
  
The 2025–2026 funding cycle will open soon for two grant programs available through the Georgia Department of Natural Resources: the Georgia Outdoor Stewardship Program and the Recreational Trails Program. Applicants may also register for the educational workshops to learn more about each program.

The U.S. Department of Transportation is currently accepting applications for the Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Grant Program. The SS4A program provides grants to prevent deaths and serious injuries on roadways. Applications will be accepted until 5 p.m. on Thursday, June 26.
