U.S. Census in Georgia Website Launched

A U.S. Census in Georgia Website has been created to help Georgians prepare for the upcoming 2020 Census. This website contains critical information to help elected officials, community groups, and individual citizens plan for and learn about the importance of the Census. In its current format, there are four main categories provided through the website-About the Census, Security, Community Involvement, and Census Data. More information will be added to this website as it becomes available.

About the Census
This section of the website provides the user with general information about the Census including what it is used for (federal funding, political representation, planning), provides a Census timeline, and a frequently asked questions section.

Security
The Security section of the website provides an overview of how the data you are submitting through the Census is protected by federal law and the U.S. Census Bureau, and outlines steps that will be taken to protect your confidential information when submitting online Census forms.
Community Involvement
The Community Involvement section of the website provides information about state and local complete count committees, community resources, information on how to get involved, and the Local Update of Census Addresses (LUCA).

Census Data
The Census Data section of the website provides historical and socioeconomic data, interactive maps, and population estimates and projections.

ACCG is participating in the State Complete Count Committee and will be providing additional tools, resources, and information for counties on the 2020 Census in the upcoming months. If you have any questions about your county’s role in the Census, please contact Michele NeSmith at mnesmith@accg.org or at 404-522-5022.
