The next season of The University of Georgia's Certified Public Manager® (CPM®) program starts in September, and seats are filling fast.
 
The Institute of Government is offering two sessions:
  • September 6, 2022 – May 25, 2023 at UGA Gwinnett Campus in Lawrenceville
  • September 20, 2022 – May 25, 2023 at Georgia Department of Corrections Campus State Offices South at Tift College in Forsyth
These groups are open to state and local government participants. Registration is available online. The program is delivered in three-day modules, one week each month. In-person attendance will be required Tuesday and Wednesday of the first module. Subsequent modules will be offered in a hybrid format with a virtual option available. All Thursday sessions will be delivered virtually. Classes run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
 
The University of Georgia's Certified Public Manager® (CPM®) program is an accredited member of the National CPM® Consortium and is designed to improve the quality and efficiency of government agencies by developing the effectiveness and professionalism of managers. Upcoming Webinar: Innovations in Data Analysis and Data Visualization
The Institute of Government at UGA has planned a webinar about innovations in data analytics and data visualization and their use in government.
 
The August 18 webinar will discuss how the Georgia Data Analytics Center at the Governor’s Office of Planning and Budget and the Georgia Broadband Initiative have used data analytics and data visualization to advance decision making in government.
 
Presenters include Kanti Chalasani, Division Director of the Georgia Data Analytics Center at the Office of Planning and Budget, and Eric McRae, Associate Director for Information Technology Outreach Services at the Carl Vinson Institute of Government. Anyone interested in data analytics, visualization, data driven decision making, program evaluation, GIS, or predictive analytics will benefit from this discussion on advancements in the field.
 
In addition, participants also will hear about future learning opportunities and how to become part of a growing network of professionals in the data analytics and visualization ecosystem as part of the Institute’s new Georgia Data Innovation Hub.
 
The Innovations in Data Analysis and Data Visualization webinar is part of the Institute of Government’s Government Matters webinar series. It will be held from 11 a.m. to noon Aug. 18. Registration is available online.
