Print this Article | Send to Colleague

The General Assembly has requested that all redistricting bills be passed by the beginning of February to meet the February 18, 2022, deadline established by the Secretary of State’s Office for inputting redistricting changes into their voter registration system before qualifying begins on March 7, 2022.  Chairman Jan Tankersley announced on Tuesday that all redistricting bills must be introduced by February 7 and passed out of the House by February 10 to meet this deadline. As of Friday, only 47 boards of commissioners redistricting bills had been introduced or were shown as pending introduction. Please check the General Assembly website at https://www.legis.ga.gov/legislation/all to check to see if the redistricting bill for your county has been introduced. If your bill is not listed and you have already run your local ad and submitted your redistricting information (map, resolution, instructions on any changes, etc.) to your bill sponsor, please contact them ASAP. Information about the redistricting process can be found in the 2021 ACCG Local Redistricting Toolkit.
