Project Update: Thursday, May 9

This week, May 6 through May 10, expect lane, ramp and street closures along US-50 in Sacramento.

Nearby residents can expect loud construction noise as contractors are scheduled to perform demolition work, remove concrete, pour pavement, and conduct striping activities.

ALERT: On westbound US-50, the far right lane between 59th Street onramp and Stockton Boulevard exit is now “EXIT ONLY” for Stockton Boulevard. The lane has been re-striped and additional signage will be installed to indicate the new lane status.

REMINDER: There are currently 2 traffic splits and 2 shifts on westbound US-50. Please #BeWorkZoneAlert and always slow to 55 MPH in the construction zone.

*All work is scheduled to begin as listed but subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment and/or materials, and construction related issues.

Reminders and Resources

Crews are working around the clock so always Be Work Zone Alert. The speed limit in the work zone is 55 MPH and CHP will be patrolling the area to issue citations to motorists that exceed that limit.

General work schedule (subject to change): Day work from 5 AM – 8 PM; night work from 8 PM – 5 AM.

Ongoing Project Work and Closures

  • Crews continue to work within the construction area from I-5  to Watt Avenue.
  • 35th Street is closed near the Stockton Boulevard off-ramp at US-50 and scheduled to reopen 2024.
  • Loud noises can be expected.
