Mycobacterium tuberculosis Transmission Through Tissue Transplantation
AATB has been notified by an accredited institutional member, Aziyo Biologics, of a voluntary recall of its viable bone matrix products used in orthopedic and spinal procedures. The recall was issued after the establishment learned of post-surgical Mycobacterium tuberculosis infections in two patients treated with the product from a single donor lot. Aziyo Biologics had a recall related to M. tuberculosis in June 2021 for the same viable bone matrix product.
