Revision to Standards for Tissue Banking, 15th Edition and New Resources
A revision to the 15th edition of the Standards for Tissue Banking was announced on April 28 in Bulletin 25-2 clarifying requirements related to ambient temperature labeling changes. To support this update, the Standards Committee will host a webinar on May 14. In addition, two new resources will soon be available in the AATB Portal for members of accredited institutions: Corrections to Standards for Tissue Banking, 15th Edition, listing changes since the July 2024 publication, and Frequently Asked Questions Related to Standards for Tissue Banking, which addresses common questions, including several about the ambient temperature labeling revisions.
OMB Reviewing Final Guidance Documents on Sepsis and Mtb
On April 18, 2025, the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) received the two guidance documents from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for final review under the Administration’s mandate to evaluate guidance issued during the previous administration.

Ensure Voting Eligibility for the 2025–2027 AATB Board of Governors Election
To be eligible to participate in the upcoming AATB Board of Governors election, all individuals must have an active AATB Individual Membership linked to their Portal Account by May 16. If you are an Accredited Institution, please remind your staff to create their Portal Accounts and confirm their membership status as soon as possible. Primary Establishment Contacts (PECs) can view their organization’s member roster through their own Portal Accounts. If any employees need assistance with creating a Portal Account or navigating the system, please contact Julie Bly, AATB Director of Membership, at blyj@aatb.org.
