Port of Long Beach
PortMiami claims to have set a world record by processing 4.8 million multi-day cruise passengers during FY 2013-2014. An agreement signed December 2 ensures that at least Norwegian Cruise Line vessel will be sailing from the Port of New Orleans through the year 2018 and possibly through 2021.

The Port of New York and New Jersey in October set a new record for monthly cargo volume, surpassing the previous monthly record of 306,051 shipping containers handled in August 2013. This October's 306,805 containers keeps the port on pace for a record-breaking year in 2014.

The Alabama State Port Authority has contracted for the Phase I construction of the Garrows Bend Intermodal Container Transfer Facility (ICTF) at the Port of Mobile. The Council on Port Performance (CPP) Equipment Implementation Team agreed on November 20 to implement a port-wide chassis pool in the Port of New York and New Jersey. A new system of permitting container trucks to enter port property is being introduced at Port Metro Vancouver.

The interlocal agreement (ILA) the ports of Seattle and Tacoma submitted in October to the Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) for permission to undertake the due diligence necessary to form a Seaport Alliance took effect Monday, December 1.
