Broward County’s Port Everglades has released a new video to illustrate its 20-year roadmap for future growth, including approximately $1.6 billion in capital investments to improve productivity for cargo, cruise and petroleum businesses that operate at the South Florida seaport. Officials of the Philadelphia Regional Port Authority (PRPA) released a Request for Expressions of Interest (R.E.I.) for the development of its Southport Terminal Complex, located on the Delaware River in South Philadelphia.

Port of Long Beach
Marine cargo operations at the ports of Seattle and Tacoma supported more than 48,000 jobs in 2013, which generated nearly $4.3 billion in economic activity, according to a study commissioned jointly by the two ports. The St. Lawrence Seaway reported that year-to-date cargo shipments of more than 24 million metric tons moved through the system for the period March 28 to September 30 – an increase of nearly 5 percent over September 2013.

Port  of Hueneme CEO & Director Kristin Decas announced on October 3 that Ms. Dona Toteva Lacayo will be joining the Port of Hueneme as the Port's new Director of Business Development. The Trois-Rivières Port Authority recently announced that Mrs. Danielle St-Amand will be sitting on its Board of Directors. Harbor Police Officer Cynthia Markley has been named the Port of San Diego’s 2014 Harbor Police Officer of the Year, earning the department's highest honor for her work as a patrol officer, peer support leader, and crisis intervention officer.

On September 27, more than 12,000 guests enjoyed themselves at the Port of Hueneme's Banana Festival, a yearly event that helps develop a better understanding and strengthen the bonds between the community and the port. The Port of Long Beach partnered with the Arts Council for Long Beach for Port of Long Beach Photo, a three-part photography learning experience for amateur and pro photographers alike.

For a 21st consecutive year, the Manatee County Port Authority has been honored with the highest recognition for governmental accounting and financial reporting. Port Tampa Bay announced its 14th consecutive year of recognition for excellence in financial reporting.
