Luxury ship operator Crystal Cruises will return to the Port of Baltimore for a third consecutive year and offer an 11-day cruise aboard the newly redesigned Crystal Symphony on November 2, 2015. The "Colonial Coast & Beyond" voyage will embark out of Baltimore and sail down the East Coast, making port calls to Charleston and Jacksonville, before continuing to the Caribbean and concluding in Miami.

Port of Long Beach
Maersk Line joined the growing list of shipping lines calling at Massachusetts Port Authority’s Conley Container Terminal with the February 5 arrival of the Sealand Illinois at the Port of Boston. Boston is now the second U.S. port of call after New York on Maersk Line’s TA5 service, followed by Baltimore, Norfolk, Savannah and Charleston. Overseas ports of call include Algeciras and Valencia in Spain, Sines in Portugal, and Gioia Tauro, Naples, Leghorn, La Spezia, and Genoa in Italy.

Port Corpus Christi has agreed to the sale and relocation of a refrigerated warehouse facility and "associated furniture, fixtures and equipment" to the Port of Santa Marta in Colombia. The Duluth Seaway Port Authority is buying a 35.7 acre dock in the Duluth Industrial Waterfront zoning district with the intent of marketing the property to industrial operations in need of leasable land and restoring the facility to full maritime service. The Port of Kalama will soon become home to Rainier Truck Trailer Tank Repair LLC, a large regional provider of chemical tank inspections and repair facilities.

The Port of Everett has contracted in January with Green Funnel Agency (GFA), represented by Vincent Sullivan, to pursue cargo opportunities. Industry veteran Mary Mackson has joined the North Carolina State Ports Authority’s economic development team as a senior account executive based in Charlotte.

Deepening of the Grays Harbor Navigation Channel to its fully authorized depth of -38 feet MLLW will get underway in 2015, thanks to the inclusion of $8 million for this project in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) fiscal year 2015 work plan. President Barack Obama’s FY2016 budget also included $7 million for completing the deepening.

The Halifax Port Authority has entered into a partnership for a new international student internship program with Sobey School of Business at Saint Mary’s University with assistance from the Hong Kong-Canada Business Association Atlantic Section. Through this program, international students at Saint Mary’s University will gain work experience through paid internships at the port authority.

The Port Authority reports cargo container volumes at the Port of New York and New Jersey set a record in 2014, surpassing the previous record set in 2012.  Port Metro Vancouver experienced a second consecutive year of record cargo volumes in 2014, according to data released late last week by the port authority. Double-digit cargo increases for the second consecutive year are reported by the South Jersey Port Corporation (SJPC), with throughput at its Camden (NJ) marine terminals in 2014 jumping by more than 24 percent to 2,264,746 short tons. The Port of Virginia this January experienced a 15 percent jump in container volumes and hefty gains from a year ago as well for rail, barge and truck borne container moves at its Hampton Roads facilities.
