The Canaveral Port Authority which currently has no direct rail service, plans to build and operate an 11-mile extension that would link the port to the Florida East Coast Railway via an existing NASA rail line at Kennedy Space Center. The Port of Longview is launching a $10 million Industrial Rail Corridor expansion project aimed at improving cargo-movement efficiency for existing and future customers. Port Freeport celebrated two milestones on October 23 with the inaugural call of a Mediterranean Shipping Co. (MSC) service and the first use of the port’s recently purchased Post Panamax ship-to-shore cranes. The newly completed Roberts Bank Causeway Overpass rail/road grade separation project will improve the fluidity and safety of container traffic flows to and from Port Metro Vancouver’s Deltaport Container Terminal and boost its throughput capacity by up 200,000 TEUs annually.

Port of Long Beach
A shore power system that allows cruise vessels to plug in when calling the Port of Halifax is now complete and fully operational. The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey and Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. on October 24 dedicated the new cruise terminal at Cape Liberty Cruise Port, the next phase of the development of the Bayonne (NJ) cruise port.

Standard & Poor’s has affirmed its "A-' rating for the Alabama State Port Authority’s outstanding dock facilities revenue bonds. The Port of Nanaimo contributes directly to employment and the economy in the region through its operations and activities, according to a newly released study. Unaudited financial results for Fiscal Year 2014 indicate that the Port of San Diego earned a $12.5 million surplus during the fiscal year ending June 30, 2014.

The Jacksonville Port Authority (JAXPORT) reports its Asian container trade jumped 20 percent to 226,938 TEUs during the fiscal year ending September 30, 2014. Mexico’s port system processed just over 214.4 million metric tons of cargo during the first nine months of 2014, down just 0.3 percent from a year ago, according to "preliminary" data compiled and reported by the federal port agency, Coordinación General de Puertos y Marina MercantePort Everglades’ container count topped 1.0 million TEUs in the fiscal year ending September 30, 2014.

Port of Longview commissioners have unanimously agreed to take over a park in West Longview as part of the port’s mission to enhance recreation opportunities and provide public access to the waterfront. Under the port’s management, Willow Grove will remain a public park.
