Container traffic at Massport’s Conley Terminal in the Port of Boston hit a six-year high during the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2014. U.S. ports across the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence Seaway System experienced tonnage increases tonnage in several cargo categories during June. The San Pedro Harbor ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles together handled container volumes totaling nearly 1.5 million TEUs in June, an increase of 11.1 percent from a year ago. Container movements at the Port of Virginia reached a record 2,305,911 TEUs during FY 2013-2014.

Holt Logistics Corp. has entered into a partnership with the South Jersey Port Corporation (SJPC) for the construction of a 190-acre marine terminal in Paulsboro (NJ). The Florida East Coast Railway on July 14 unveiled its state-of-the-art intermodal container transfer facility (ICTF) at Port Everglades.

Virginia’s flourishing coffee business received a boost July 14, when the port was certified as a delivery point on the ICE Futures U.S. Coffee "C"® futures contract. Chiquita Brands will continue to use Delaware’s Port of Wilmington as its mid-Atlantic distribution hub for at the least the next five years and potentially until 2029 under a newly signed agreement with the Diamond State Port Corporation.

BBC Peter Rӧnna on July 14 delivered a cargo it had loaded in Denmark of Siemens wind energy components to the Duluth Seaway Port Authority’s Clure Public Marine Terminal, the only general cargo terminal in the Port of Duluth-Superior. It was the 15th shipment of wind energy components for Minnesota Power’s Bison 4 project in North Dakota.
