Operations have begun at Colombia's newest maritime container handling facility, Barranquilla Container Terminal (BCT), a joint venture between Sociedad Portuaria de Santa Marta (SPSM) and SSA Marine. Port Everglades Cruise Terminal 4 will be expanded and reconfigured, creating a modern, dual-flow facility just in time for the 2014-2015 cruise season.

Port Corpus Christi Acting Chief of Police Tom Mylett has been promoted to chief of police. Edward R. Oppel was elected chairman of the Port of Palm Beach District Board of Commissioners for 2014 at the board's January meeting. Emilio F. Salabarria is joining Port Tampa Bay as director of safety and training. Cléo Marchand and Martine Gravel have been unanimously re-elected to two-year terms as chairman and vice-chairman, respectively, of the board of directors of the Trois-Rivières Port Authority.
