Port Fourchon’s ambitious Northern Expansion initiative moves forward with the beginning of its $15 million of its Slip C bulkhead construction project. The Port of Tampa celebrated the opening of its new petroleum Berth 222 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on October 22.

The Port of Bellingham’s draft 2014 Strategic Budget proposes keeping property tax rates flat, completing major airport projects, repairing marine infrastructure and maintaining a strong focus on countywide job creation. The board of directors of the Port of Cleveland has approved financing to help redevelop a former mall in a Cuyahoga County community about eight miles from downtown Cleveland. The Louisiana State Bond Commission recently approved more than $100 million for port projects in Lake Charles and Plaquemines Parish. The Port of Palm Beach will save more than $1.9 million in interest cost from the refinancing of its 1999A Revenue Bonds.

Baltimore and Calais are sister ports pursuant to a MOU signed October 21 by representatives of the Maryland Port Administration and Port de Calais. The Port of Cleveland plans to partner with a Dutch shipping company in an express ocean freight service to Europe.

FY 2013 was a banner year for the Port of Hueneme, with gross operating revenues jumping 12 percent from FY 2012 to a record $13.7 million. Fitch Ratings and Standard & Poor's have each assigned an A+ rating to $19.3 million of refunding revenue bonds to be issued this month by the San Diego Unified Port District.
