Next year, Port Canaveral will add two Carnival Lines vessels to its roster of homeported cruise ships. In April 2014, the recently transformed Carnival Sunshine will replace the repositioning Carnival Dream. The following month, the larger Carnival Liberty will replace Carnival Ecstasy. Liberty and Sunshine will join Carnival Sensation in homeporting at Canaveral.

Cargo volume is growing at the Port of Houston Authority, driven by an upturn in container traffic, reports Executive Director Len Waterworth. Mr. Waterworth also reports that May operating revenue was at an all-time high of $20 million, up 4.0 percent or $800,000. Year-to-date operating revenue of $96 million reflects a $4 million or 5.0 percent increase, largely attributable to container trade growth.

The Port of Sept-Îles received a Special Award for Support to the Reserve Force during a ceremony held at the Canadian War Museum in Ottawa on June 7.  The Tampa Port Authority has joined in a "sister port" agreement with the Argentine port of Quequén. The signing of the memorandum of understanding by Jim Pyburn, Tampa's director of trade development and Latin America, and Isaias Miqueles of Consorcio de Gestión del Puerto de Quequén on June 27 occurred during AAPA's Latin American Congress of Ports in Bogotá, Colombia.

A Washington State Auditor's Office audit report released June 10 found the Port of Vancouver to be in compliance with all areas of financial reporting, including federal grant program requirements. There were no findings of deficiencies or recommendations for improvement.
