The Port of Green Bay reports cargo throughput during the 2012 shipping season dropped 11 percent from the year before to 1,917,651 metric tons. Low cost natural gas undercut demand for coal, resulting in an 11 percent decline in coal shipments in 2012 and the prospect of future tonnage declines.
