The Port of Baltimore has set another record at the Seagirt Marine Terminal, with 6,000 container moves conducted by longshore workers from the Maersk Edinburgh – the most ever from a single ship in the 315-year history of the port. The Port of Los Angeles processed 835,516 TEUs in January, an increase of 3.6% compared to January 2020, for the sixth consecutive month of year-over-year increases as U.S. consumer spending continues to drive demand for goods. The Port of Virginia in January set a new record having handled nearly 271,000 TEUs, up 19.2% or 44,000 TEUs from January 2020,  and was driven by heavy loaded import and export volume as well as a significant number of empty exports.

Stabilize Soft Subgrades for Heavy Loads -- GEOWEB® Geocells
Presto Geosystems®
Presto Geosystems worked closely with the US Army Corps to design a 36,000-square-foot haul road over weak soil using the GEOWEB® 3D system. Due to the low subgrade strength and anticipated heavy traffic patterns at the confined disposal facility, a dual-layer of GEOWEB Geocell reinforcement was required. The system performs as a load support structure, and with the aggregate infill, it provides additional on-site stormwater management.
